 Deposit Manager

Sioux City, IA

Full-Time position in our Sunnybrook Drive location

This position manages all customer service functions for the Deposit Department at the Sioux City Sunnybrook office including but not limited to: overseeing entire customer service, teller, and deposit areas of the Sioux City Sunnybrook office; initiating promotions to attract all types of deposits, conducting internal sales promotions, and providing training and incentives to staff; supervising and managing staff and schedules.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise teller/customer service staff
  • Process items on overdraft report
  • Conduct internal sales promotions
  • Provide products and services training for teller/customer service staff
  • Perform staff supervisory duties, including but not limited to, annual performance and wage reviews and managing staff work schedules
  • Oversee balancing of teller drawers and vault to cash balancing reports
  • Open new deposit accounts and cross-sell other bank products
  • Pull various reports to ensure accuracy of transactions and new accounts
  • Accurately maintain customer account records
  • Regularly interprets general policies and procedures to solve customer service, employee relations, and recordkeeping problems
  • Assist Market President in hiring and retaining quality deposit staff

 Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.  Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum five years of banking experience within the retail/customer service department, with previous management experience preferred
  • Proficiency with office software
  • Previous experience with Fiserv banking software preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Well organized with a keen attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Senior Accountant

Le Mars, IA

Full-Time in our Le Mars location

This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing the organization’s financial records, compiling financial statements, reviewing financial data, and ensuring financial compliance.  Activities are carried out through the execution of various financial procedures including general ledger oversight, forecasting, budgeting, asset/liability management, tax returns, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all accounting and auditing activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws governing both banking and business operations
  • Responsible for various Board policies including those specific to accounting and auditing operations and procedures
  • Oversees accounting and auditing operations for accuracy and integrity including responsibility for the general ledger, bond accounting, and accounts payable
  • Supervises management of the bank’s cash and liquidity positions including daily determination of cash liquidity needs
  • Responsible for asset/liability function including preparation of  Profitstar model and ALCO Committee reports
  • Oversees system of internal controls and guidelines
  • Oversees preparation of financial reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets ensuring that reported results are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and other financial reporting standards
  • Oversees tax planning throughout the year with responsibility for periodic tax filings including annual corporate tax return
  • Coordinates with external auditors and examiners providing needed information for external audits and exams including annual financial audit and associated financial statements
  • Provides financial analysis and presents recommendations to management regarding short- and long-term financial objectives and policies
  • As appropriate, identifies and recommends updates to accounting systems and procedures
  • Coordinates with software vendors regarding maintenance of accounting software system

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Certified Public Account designation preferred

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Five or more years of comprehensive hands-on experience, with demonstrated advanced competencies in accounting and auditing; preference for experience in banking environment
  • Proficiency in use of Fiserv and Profitstar financial accounting software preferred

 Operations Officer / Project Manager

Full-Time in our Le Mars location

This position directs, administers, and coordinates the activities of the organization in support of strategies, objectives and policies by the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors in order to improve operational procedures and provide needed products and services to our customers by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all organizational activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing both banking and business operations
  • Develops, implements, and monitors procedures consistent with Board policies and objectives
  • Provides guidance and direction to bank management regarding bank policies and procedures
  • In conjunction with department supervisors, may be responsible for general oversight of the Deposit Services Department, Regulatory Compliance Department, Information Systems and Security Department, and Centralized Loan Servicing Department
  • In conjunction with CIO, coordinates the Bank’s in-house electronic data processing operations including the establishment and implementation of procedures for physical and data security, local and  remote communications, computer access, and software administration
  • Manages approved projects from inception through implementation by prioritizing and scheduling staff assignments based on factors such as resource availability, project timelines, feasibility, and business needs
  • Determines scope of projects and establishes timelines, works to ensure that milestones are met and projects remain on schedule, schedules and facilitates project meetings, and develops progress reports in order to keep project team members and senior management informed of project progress and related conflicts and issues
  • Provides communication regarding project status to appropriate parties throughout the life of each project
  • Follows up with project team members to resolve issues and ensure that tasks are completed
  • Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of projects and programs, analyzes results, and suggests best practices for workflow, operational strategies, and business processes; and keeps informed of competitor strategies in the financial services industry

Skills and Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Five or more years of demonstrated successful leadership and management experience
  • Advanced competencies and comprehensive hands-on experience in bank operations management and bank information systems management
